What Socei actually does

If your society already collects maintenance and keeps books, Socei is the place all of that happens — so the work survives a change of committee.

Most societies run on one person’s spreadsheet and one person’s memory. That works right up until that person moves out. Socei replaces the spreadsheet with a system your whole committee can see, and keeps the trail the Registrar and your auditor will ask for.

The three things it replaces

The maintenance spreadsheet

Bills are generated from the flat list and your charge heads, on a schedule you set. Nobody retypes anything each month.

The payment diary

UPI, NEFT and cheque receipts are recorded against the member, so a ledger is always current instead of reconstructed at year end.

The shoebox of papers

Vouchers, bills, registers and minutes live in one place, exportable at any time.

What the committee actually does

Reviews, not data entry

On a managed plan an accountant does the entry and your committee approves. On a self-service plan your manager enters and the committee still approves.

Sees the same numbers

Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer see one set of figures, so nobody is reconciling two versions.

Leaves a trail

Who approved what, and when, is recorded — which is what protects a committee later.

It is not an accounting course

You do not need to understand double-entry to run a society on Socei. The system keeps the books correctly underneath; the committee works in the language of bills, receipts, defaulters and approvals.
